Bollywood actor Abishek Bachchan is visiting Adamstown Cricket Club on Tuesday 18th March from 4pm to 5pm.Mr Bachchan is in Dublin on a brief visit in advance of the European T20 Premier League in July where he is a co-owner of the league.He will meet members of Adamstown CC, a club founded in 2009 and which is already the largest in the country and has developed a superb facility in Airlie park with a footprint similar to the international ground in Malahide. Members of the media are welcome to attend and there will be plenty of opportunities to take photographs and talk to Mr Bachchan.Mr Bachchan’s visit to Ireland is being supported by Cricket Ireland our thanks to Cricket Ireland for supporting Adamstown CC with this opportunity.
Adamstown Cricket Club was founded in 2009 and now has 11 adult teams including a women’s team and 21 youth teams participating in the Leinster competition. After a decade of rapid growth and investment in the youth academy, Adamstown has more than 250 members and one of its founders, Meena Baskarasubramanian, is this year president of Cricket Leinster. Adamstown men’s 1st team will be participating in the newly formed Leinster First Team League as well as in the coveted Leinster Senior Cup and Alan Murray cup in 2025. A number of Adamstown youth also represent the province and the country in the under-age category.The European T20 Premier League (ETPL) is a privately-owned franchise tournament that brings together the best cricket talent from Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands, alongside international stars. The league aims to promote the growth of cricket in Europe, provide a platform for local talent, and deliver world-class entertainment to fans.
