The NorthWest 10K Charity Lunch Fundraiser, sponsored by GoMart Store and organised by the Autism Family Support Group Letterkenny, was a resounding success this Paddy’s weekend, raising a total of €1,333 in support of local charities.
The event received strong community backing and was attended by public representatives including Pearse Doherty TD, Padraig McLaughlin TD, and Gerry McMonagle, who showed their support for the initiative and the families benefiting from it.

Although unable to attend due to prior commitments, Charlie McConalogue TD, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and Donal Kelly (Cllr Donal “Mandy” Kelly) sent their best wishes and support for the event.
Organising committee member Anil Ambat expressed sincere gratitude to GoMart Letterkenny owners Saji Paul and Able Mathew, as well as dedicated chefs Sumesh Cherian and Paul Joshy, for their generous sponsorship and tireless efforts that helped make the fundraiser a success.
Special appreciation was also extended to Autism Family Support Group members June Doherty and Lillianne for their outstanding coordination and management of lunch deliveries, ensuring the smooth running of the event.
The fundraiser saw excellent community participation, with approximately 185 meals sold on the day. Attending representatives congratulated the organisers and reaffirmed their support for autism families, recognising the challenges many families face and highlighting the importance of continued community and government support.
The organisers also encouraged the public to support the upcoming NorthWest 10K, which benefits three vital Donegal charities:
- Autism Family Support Group
- Alcohol Forum Ireland
- No Barriers Foundation
Community participation in upcoming fundraising events will help continue essential support services across the region.
