Dublin, Ireland — Rev. Jonny Stahl, a long-standing volunteer staff member at the Church of Scientology & Community Centre of Dublin, entered a significant new chapter in his life with his recent ordination as a Scientology Minister.
Reaching this point required extensive study and practical preparation, resulting in a profound knowledge of the Scientology scriptures, practical experience in conducting ceremonies and fulfilling the duties of a Scientology Minister, and an understanding of the beliefs and principles of other major religions.
Knowledge of the religious philosophies and practices of other faiths is considered important in the Scientology tradition, which teaches respect for the religious beliefs of others and has no concept of conversion.
Once formally ordained, Rev. Stahl immediately stepped into his new role, delivering his first sermon to the congregation.
But his path to Ministry began long before that moment.
A third-generation Scientologist, Rev. Stahl began volunteering for his Church at the age of 21, driven by a strong commitment to helping others.
“I wanted to do something meaningful and provide real help. I saw injustices, discrimination and bad actions in the society around me and wanted to do something about it,” he said.
That sense of purpose has long been closely connected with his spirituality. For Rev. Stahl, embarking on a spiritual journey means looking beyond the material world and becoming more aware of what is truly there. For him, the Ministry represents a natural extension of that approach to life.
“In Scientology, making personal and spiritual progress always includes taking responsibility and helping others, while also improving the different aspects of one’s own life,” he said.
Addressing family, friends and the wider congregation gathered to celebrate his Ordination, Rev. Stahl said that it is his ambition to help make these words of Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard a reality:
“In our hands lies the power to restore to man his determinism and all that he finds good in himself – his honesty, his integrity, and the thrill of being of real help to others.”
As Rev. Stahl takes on this new responsibility, those who have been part of his journey wish him every success in the role and in his continued work helping others.
He is the 38th Minister to be ordained at the Church of Scientology & Community Centre of Dublin since its opening in October 2017.
The Church of Scientology & Community Centre in Firhouse, Dublin was established in 2017, in keeping with Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard’s intention that all Scientology Churches are to serve as a home for the entire community and a meeting ground for cooperative efforts.
